I figured it was time that I voiced my opinion because everyone else is doing so. And what I like most about a blog is that I can’t be interrupted. Let me make sure that you understand that anything written on this blog is simply my opinion, sarcastic view, or probably wrong. You should not take anything on this site as being true or good sound legal advice. Believe me, if I was going to give you legal advice you would be paying me by the hour. But, rather, I think that the intellectual property community is mostly governed by a lot of uptight people that have lost sight of the big picture. For instance, a patent is nothing more than a stop sign. Stick it in the middle of the desert and it is useless. At 2:00 am it is usually ignored. And if you don’t have the money and the government to back it up, it is simply decoration. But, in the hands of a good business man, it can be worth money to your company. My goal in my professional life is to help people make wise decisions about intellectual property. It is very easy to become too focused on getting a patent and totally miss out on great business opportunities. So, what I want to put in this blog is just the thoughts that I give to clients or prospective clients to help them decide if they want to pay me to do something for them.
